Proclad’s primary mechanical testing laboratory, Pro Inspection, has successfully attained an extension to its UKAS accreditation scope. The extended scope includes Pitting Corrosion, Macro Assessment Analysis, Grain Size Analysis, Volume Fraction and Austenite Spacing.
The company was originally formed in 2011 with an investment of over £600,000 to provide the Proclad Group with an independent materials inspection facility which supports the Groups strategy of providing a complete turnkey service.
The level of expertise and experience offered by Pro Inspection was demonstrated by the award to ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation via UKAS. The core services initially attained included Tensile Testing, Impact Testing, Brinell Hardness Testing and Vickers Hardness Testing.
With various companies in the Proclad Group initially accounting for 40% of the total capacity, Pro Inspection has continued to build its portfolio of clients from across the UK who appreciate the quality of its service and its unbeatable lead time.
Proclad’s UK Technical Manager, Stuart Duncan, explained “Our core objective is to provide a professional and proactive material inspection service which would not only meet the needs of our Group but to also build a self-sustaining company with its own client base.”
Pro Inspection has fixed plans already in place to further extend its equipment and accreditation scope. The range of services will be further extended by offering welding engineering, failure analysis and metallurgical services to the local industry, the next development stage will be achieved by May 2015.
